Bonfire of the Willow trees

Friends of ours have been clearing their creek banks of old willow trees, resulting in a massive wood pile. Despite the carbon guilt, a bonfire was in order not only to clear the debris, but to brighten the midwinter nights and celebrate the winter solstice, albeit a bit late...
