It's cupcake time again. Last weekend we started the first of our now monthly (yay!) stall at the market hobart. This Saturday we're very excited to be at an ace new (for me) market called Odd + Even. It sounds gorgeous, especially the lounge area with craft and drawing demonstrations and workshops.
There is an incredible amount of talented designers and makers in Tasmania and it's wonderful to see a thriving independent market community developing.
These are some of the cakes we baked last weekend, our regular rich chocolate hazelnut with chocolate ganache, and a berry jam swirl cupcake, with white chocolate buttercream. We dried some strawberries and ground them in a spice grinder to sprinkle on top with a blueberry. We will have these again on Saturday.
I'm about to start a new blog that will be all about cake. It will have all the details on markets and what we're baking for each market. I'll let you know when we go live. Hopefully soon.
My DSLR has been posted off to the mainland for some work, and these have shots have been taken with my iphone. Not bad quality really, but looking forward to my Canon back so I can take some better shots. Soon I hope.
Tea's ready, shall I pour?
Yeah a whole blog devoted to cake! Your cakes are so beautiful delicious- always so moist and frostings so creamy...next time we will try and show some restraint and take them home to eat with a cup of tea. I'm afraid they were gobbled on route!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, we can vouch for how delish your cupcakes were having gobbled them at Sundays Market.
ReplyDeleteOoh I am so glad you will be there with cupcakes on Saturday, although my diet is probably not so pleased : ) the last odd+even was great so I'm looking forward to being a part of this one. As for a whole blog about cake that sounds like heaven to me! See you on Saturday
ReplyDeleteAh yum, just quietly, they look delicious. Petal turns five in a few weeks and I'm already in a cake dilemma. Is there a limit on how many cakes you can have for one party ?
ReplyDeleteOh excellent!! I'll see you at odd + even!! I may have to break my no white flour, no sugar rule just for you. :)
ReplyDeletewow, really good shots from an iphone! can't wait to see your new blog. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh lovely - cake is a real must! I am coming to TAS! Just a quick visit but if I get down south, I will let you know! X
ReplyDeleteAnother spectacular job Michelle! I'm so looking forward to your new blog launch.
