Just like heaven...

...for me anyway. A cool afternoon and a massive cherry orchard full of fruit just waiting to be picked, as much as you can, for free.  We easily picked about 30kg in an hour.  Plus scoffed loads whilst we were at it. How lucky are we?  Now, the extra fridge is on and filled with fruit, the dehydrator is running on overdrive, there are pickles, preserves and a lot of jam being made and my hands are stained purple.  And a clafouti for dinner.  More cherries than we know what to do with.  That really is my idea of heaven.

  2. Oh, so lucky indeed! What a wonderful invitation! I get excited about a single mulberry plant, I wouldn't know where to start when faced with something of this scale! You sound so very organised to make the most of that fruit. Enjoy your time in heaven.

  5. Michele it sounds soooo good to me.
You are living the life I dreamed of living.... I only got halfway there. I grow fruit & veg but get distracted & they never yield well. I buy the books on preserving & pickling but never get around to it. You lady are an inspiration!

  9. once again I feel like inviting myself over for an afternoon feast. I'm sure it's cooler in Tasmania than it is here and that sounds like the best temptation of all! x

  10. Just come over from Meet me at Mikes and wanted to say that your pictures are lovely. Reading about your summer days is a wonderful escape from the cold winter we are having in the UK!

We have only had 2 bags of cherries this year at Christmas!

I'm dreaming of a day when I could get my hands on too many cherries:)
