A big new development. My little lion cub getting his own big bed and moving out of his baby one. He's so proud and sleeping all through the night at last. My little lion cub will be three this month, sniff. Lots of new developments to come...
Part of my reluctance to take this leap earlier is because I love this cot. It's a simple vintage piece that has watched over the sweet dreams of many little ones in our extended family. As Hugo was the last in the line, I'm not sure what to do with it now....

Wow yes that is hard, a little sad and in some way strange to move them our of their cots. We only had this talk yesterday about needing to do it with our little lady and I am so hesitant. It has been both of my babies bed and I just wish it could stay this way. However she turns three in a few months and i have to face up to it. So good on you brave mummy for doing that..and what a cute little cub he is..xxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little lion cub! Best of luck with this new development. My friend has recently put her three year old in a bed. He was doing some wandering at first! The freedom! But he has settled into it now and loves it! :)

ReplyDeleteIts hard... Minnie is 3yrs3months and is still in her cot. We have an antique brass bed for her and just need to do a little work on it before its ready. Minnie still loves her cot - she can get in and out and there is plenty of room in it. Given she spent all of her first 2 years in our bed, Minnie is ensuring she gets some time in that cot before its put away!

ReplyDeleteThree seems to be the time for the cot to bed transition, doesn't it? I guess it's part of a bigger shift where they are less baby like and more independent. This is a big stage for mum's & dad's too, especially with the youngest. We had a few prams stacked up in the shed that I can't quite part with yet...one day I'll be ready! Hope little lion has sweet dreams in the new bed x

ReplyDelete(I think I am going to have to keep my youngest in his cot until he is about 17, so that he doesn't get into mischief!)
If you have room for both, you could still use it in his room for keeping soft toys in.
ReplyDeleteMy husband (who is not generally sentimental) won't let me give away our high chair. Its nothing special, just a spindle back wooden one that we bought second hand. He says we can use it if visitors come. We may have used it once in 8 years. But it makes an OK indoor plant stand!
I am with Joanne, use it for the toys. I bought a vintage cot for exactly that use! It looks beautiful (yours). Sad, but exciting too. What a cute little cub. x
