Since we moved in it's become home to odd bits of furniture that don't quite fit in the house. A bit of a lost space. However, after four years I'm finally getting around to making a start on the grand makeover. I've made great inroads with gallons of white paint already. For the windows, I picked up three vintage lace curtains at the op shop for mere 50 cents each. While I'm not quite ready to reveal all just yet, here is a little glimpse. I love the patterns the curtains make on the newly painted white walls. A summer house studio. A place for friends to stay, a quiet sunny place for me to sit and read, just like Miss Dahl. That will be quite delicious.

It sounds like a most satisfying project. I'm sure it will be lots of fun. Are those tamarillos in your photo? It seems to be too early for them here.
ReplyDeleteThey are little red crab apples Tracy - too early for tamarillos here too...
ReplyDeleteit sounds perfect. Crazy as it sounds we've already planned a third hut, which sounds similar, a loft bedroom and a space to read or play the piano in. I think I may need to recover first from building the first hut!
ReplyDeleteI have just clicked on the make a comment on the kiddies bedroom and then you throw in a whole house reno....wahooo!! YOU MUST show the be-fore's and afters.....I LOVE THEM!
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful to have a nice, big studio! And what a fun project. Can't wait to see it finished!

I enjoy your blog and, when reading it, often wonder how you made your way to Tassie. Obviously it was a big move and I'm wondering how it all happened. Would love to hear the story....
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Natasha.
I have many dreams of a studio/guest space/ sunny writing spot/all round lovely space.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy jazzing the studio up Michelle.
It's already looking very nice- I'm sure you'll make it into a lovely studio. I find Sophie Dahl's lifestyle very inspirational as well. Wish I had a summerhouse!
ReplyDeleteI dream of a summerhouse studio. I have some op shop lace curtains in a box in the garage just in case:)
ReplyDeleteHappy styling, I can't wait to see the pictures
Can't wait for the big reveal! The sneak peek is looking VERY sweet.
